Plastic-Free EB: One Bag at a Time

Plastic-Free EB: One Bag at a Time  is a program promoting the use of reusable shopping bags and reducing the use of disposable plastic.

Worldwide, a trillion single-use plastic bags are used annually and it is estimated that more than twenty millions bags are used in East Brunswick each year. The plastic the bags are made of does not readily degrade and remain in the environment for up to a thousand years. Discarded plastic bags threaten wildlife everywhere, suffocate our wetlands, and pollute our oceans.

The good news is that plastic bag pollution is preventable, and you can be part of the solution. If each of us use reusable bags when shopping we will eliminate the accumulation of plastic bags in our environment.

What’s National Moth Week all about? Watch This and Find Out

We’re often – no always – asked how and why National Moth Week started; what’s so special about moths, and how can you watch them.

Those questions recently were answered by NMW co-founders Liti Haramaty and Dave Moskowitz in an interview with their local TV station, EBTV. The shoot
took place in Liti’s backyard, where at least some of the plans for National Moth Week were hatched several years ago.

Learn the A to Zs of mothing, why moths are fun to watch, and how to make sticky, sweet moth bait by watching this piece produced by Brian Belzer of EBTV:
